Staff Member Spotlight: Barbara Soto
Where are you originally from (born and raised)? I was born and raised in Elmhurst, Queens, NY.
Tell us a little bit about your background… what did you do before joining GPC? Prior to joining GPC, I worked at Mount Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan as a Practice Manager for the Department of Neurosurgery. My journey in healthcare started 13 years ago as an assistant to the Social Work Director at NYC Health & Hospitals Elmhurst. I later transitioned into the role of Patient Satisfaction Manager for the Patient Relations Department at Elmhurst Hospital and then worked for the NYC Health & Hospitals Metropolitan Ambulatory Care Department.
What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of my job is being able to help patients and providing them with a friendly and welcoming environment to receive their medical care.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go? There’s too many to choose from but definitely one of the French Polynesian islands like Tahiti or Bora Bora.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about? My secret talent is that I always win when playing Connect 4.
