Grameen PrimaCare held an art contest in March 2013 with Grameen America borrowers in Queens. The purpose of the contest was to create awareness of women’s health issues and encourage Grameen America borrowers to take care of their personal health.  Grameen PrimaCare encouraged borrowers to think about:
  • What inspires you to be healthy?
  • What images remind you of a healthy community?
  • What images or experiences represent your health?
  • What inspires you to be healthy?
  • How do you imagine a healthy community?

On April, 4th 2013, Sujeire submitted her design entitled, “Salud de la Mujer (Woman’s Health).”  She was excited to learn that Grameen PrimaCare will be providing affordable access to health services for Grameen America borrowers. As soon as she heard of the design contest, she began brainstorming what women’s health means and how to visually inspire and promote healthy living amongst other women.

Sujeire’s piece was the contest winner not only for the beauty of her design but also for the representation of woman and health in every detail of her creation.
